Mirror Project Implementation in DIET Schools


As a part of Clean Drive initiative, the mirror project was piloted in 20 schools in Tamil Nadu. Mirrors were installed in these schools and nail cutters and combs were provided. The objective of this initiative is to create awareness among students on self-cleanliness, urge them to keep themselves neat which will in turn boost their self-confidence. Since the pilot was a big success, the project is all set to be implemented in more schools in the next phase. Among the 20 schools, 5 were DIET schools.

Exposure Trip to Delhi

TamilNadu's DE program team members visited American India Foundation's Delhi Head Office for exposure and capacity development. Divya Murali (Program Officer), Gomathi Natarajan and Purnima Kesavan (DIET Trainers) were at Delhi on 10th and 11th of March. They interacted with the Delhi team and attended various exposure sessions on the two days. Apart from this, the DIET trainers had discussion with DIET trainers of Delhi and got more ideas regarding the program implementation.
The team also had a meeting with Mr. J.Sundarakrishnan, Director of DE India. They discussed the plan for the next academic year and come up with ideas for improvement of quality.TN members had great exposure trip and came back with a lot of learning and ideas to implement in TN.
