Training in DE Way of Teaching

Students were given training in DE Way of Teaching methodology batch wise. B.Ed students observed the DEWoT demo class and got hands on training in it.

Flipped Classroom transaction in Schools by TTI students

TTI students went for their teaching practice II. during this, they have transacted FC in the schools as part of the program. It was transacted in Vengata Nivasam Primary School and RMK middle School.

Orientation Program

Orientation about DIET School Connect Program was given to students of B.Ed batch 1(63 students). During the orientation, students introduced themselves and participated enthusiastically in the activities. 

Trainings to TTI

Teaching Practice

The TTI students of second year went to the primary schools for their observation class from July 8 to 22, 2015. The instruction was given to the TTI students before they go for Teaching Practice. The students have started their teaching practice I on 23rd of July, 2015 and it ended on 18th of August, 2015. During their teaching practice I, they have transacted the DEWoT in classrooms.

Mirror Project Implementation in DIET Schools

As a part of Clean Drive initiative, the mirror project was piloted in 20 schools in Tamil Nadu. Mirrors were installed in these schools and nail cutters and combs were provided. The objective of this initiative is to create awareness among students on self-cleanliness, urge them to keep themselves neat which will in turn boost their self-confidence. Since the pilot was a big success, the project is all set to be implemented in more schools in the next phase. Among the 20 schools, 5 were DIET schools.

Exposure Trip to Delhi

TamilNadu's DE program team members visited American India Foundation's Delhi Head Office for exposure and capacity development. Divya Murali (Program Officer), Gomathi Natarajan and Purnima Kesavan (DIET Trainers) were at Delhi on 10^th and 11^th of March. They interacted with the Delhi team and attended various exposure sessions on the two days. Apart from this, the DIET trainers had discussion with DIET trainers of Delhi and got more ideas regarding the program implementation.

The team also had a meeting with Mr. J.Sundarakrishnan, Director of DE India. They discussed the plan for the next academic year and come up with ideas for improvement of quality.TN members had great exposure trip and came back with a lot of learning and ideas to implement in TN.

Centralized Teacher Training

Training sessions designed for in-service teachers started successfully on 28th January, 2015, 4 such training have happened. Teachers from 20 schools that are under DIET School Connect Program came together at technology centre at NKT National College and participated in the training.They also shared their experiences and ideas with each other.

Students of first and second year observed the demonstration of DE Way of Teaching (DEWoT) and the training was given in it.  Training given in MS office and Azhagi software.
